It is with deepest regret that we inform you of our beloved Mary Ann Carty’s passing.

Mary was one of the founding members of Cumann na Gaeilge i mBoston and has been an active and loyal member since its inception, in 1973.

She dedicated herself to the preservation of the organization’s library and was an active member of the Executive Committee. Her experience and insights were invaluable to the society and its work.

It was a treat to see her at our events, always friendly and kind, even as she struggled with her illness in recent years. She will be sorely missed.

May God grant her eternal peace, and may Irish speakers forever remember Mary Carty and her personal efforts on behalf of the language. We at Cumann na Gaeilge express our deepest condolences to her family.

The wake is Sunday, November 2, from 4 to 8 PM at Carroll Thomas Funeral Home, 22 Oak Street, Hyde Park. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Monday, November 3, at 9 AM at Most Precious Blood Church, Hyde Park.
