The CD Bóithrín na Smaointe by Máirín Concannon was put together with the help of The Massachusetts Cultural Council, Maggie Heltzberg, Ph.D., Program Director, with the aid of the WBUR Recording Studio and Technical Staff and Stephany Tiernan, chair of the Piano Department at Berklee College of Music,in 2002.

Fr. Sweeney, an S.M.A. priest from Claremorris in County Mayo, was a co-founder of Cumann na Gaeilge in 1973 along with Dr. Frederick Rosenheim, a noted psychiatrist. On his passing and in recognition of his lifelong dedication to the teaching of language a scholarship fund was established to allow the Cumann to aid students interested in additional studies.
